Rapper Rick Ross is no longer taking any chances after Monday’s attempted drive-by shooting in Ft. Lauderdale.
According to TMZ, the “Diced Pineapples” rapper has now opted to hire a 24-hour armed security guard in case of any future threats. Ironically, on the same day of the incident, a freestyle to Kendrick Lamar’s “Don’t Kill My Vibe” was released where Ross says, “I can’t believe I’m alive.”
An unknown suspect targeted Ross’s Rolls Royce after Ross left a celebration for his 37th birthday. While fleeing the gunfire, Ross’s car crashed into a building. He and his girlfriend, Shateria L. Moragne-el left the scene unharmed.
MTV News reports that Ft. Lauderdale police hae now release portions of 911 calls from witnesses.
"I just heard a bunch of gun shots go off and a car sped by," said a woman that claimed to be the manager of the restaurant where Rick was celebrating his special day. When the call came in around 5 a.m. she said, "My server just left on her bike. Oh my God, they’re turning around and coming back. I’m hanging up."
