Shyne has returned to old label home Def Jam Recordings for a lucrative contract.
AllHipHop.com reports that Shyne, who was recently deported to Belize, has signed a seven-figure record deal with Def Jam. Supposedly, Def Jam had been fighting it out with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, as well as a few other labels, to see who would get to the release the rapper’s comeback album.
Shyne was signed to Def Jam back in 2004 when he was ready to drop Godfather: Buried Alive. Although that was a seven-figure contract as well, he and LA Reid had disputes over how the album should be promoted.
There’s word that Shyne is looking to record his next project, his first in six years, in London. Those plans were put on hold last week when he was denied entry to the country because of an issue with his immigration papers.
