Gabourey Sidibe has turned her rising star into a role on a Showtime series.
According to ComingSoon.net, the Precious star has just inked a deal for a recurring spot on “The Big C,” Showtime’s dark comedy about a Connecticut woman named Cathy (played by Laura Linney) who has diagnosed with cancer.
Gabourey, who appeared in the show’s pilot episode, will be playing a smart-mouthed student in Cathy’s class.
“The Big C” is slated to resume production this May, shooting 13 episodes, and it’s set to premiere near the end of summer.
