Mary J. Blige has secured a second gig this summer as part of a music festival that’s all about girl power.
While a full list of shows hasn’t been released yet, the first confirmed stop is on July 2 in Portland, Oregon, when Erykah Badu will be repping the brown-skinned songbirds. She’ll continue those duties in Seattle on July 3.
MJB won’t be joining Lilith Fair until July 17 in Chicago at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, and she’ll stay on the roster for at least four shows, including a stop in Toronto. That show will also introduce audiences to Vita Chambers, a 15-year-old artist from Barbados.
Sadly Mary, who is slated to sing at the Essence Music Festival, won’t be scheduled to play the August 8 show at the Aarons Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta, but Corrine Bailey Rae is scheduled for a set. Janelle Monáe and Priscilla Renea will also take the stage in the ATL.
Jill Scott is also scheduled to perform at Lilith Fair, but dates for her set haven’t been announced yet.
With such a star-studded roster, you definitely won’t want to miss this. To secure your spot, get a ticket when they go on sale next month. For more information on Lilith Fair, visit LilithFair.com.
