Star Jones is recuperating from heart surgery she underwent last week in New York City.
People reports that the TV host went in for a follow-up surgery to a procedure she had done about 30 years ago after developing a thoracic tumor.
According to her rep, the surgery went well and she’s recovering at home. Star, who turns 48 years old on March 24, seems to be in high spirits during her recovery and she’s grateful for all the support she’s getting from fans on Twitter.com.
Thank you for all the good wishes and prayers,” she tweeted Sunday afternoon. “I feel them all. By the way…who knew ice chips could taste like steak! hahahahahaha.”
Even though she’s laid up, Star’s still weighing in on the news that Congress just passed health care reform last night.
“Can u imagine me trying to recover WITHOUT healthcare, “ she wrote. “Those who voted against it need to hand their heads in shame!”
The last time Star went into the operating room was August 2003 when she got a gastric bypass done, which lead to her shedding 160 pounds.
