Couple: Chad Ochocinco & Cheryl Burke

    Dance: Cha-Cha-Cha

What can we say about Chad Ochocinco, other than that “Dancing With the Stars” was made for him! His antics in the end zone have been screaming “I want to thrown down on the dance floor” for years. So it’s only fitting that he be the first one in the ballroom for season 10.

He’s finally gotten his chance and we’re expecting great things from him since he’s been paired with “DWTS” MVP, Cheryl Burke. This is a dramatic shift from being matched up with the Republican politician Tom Delay last season. We aren’t going to assume she jumped for joy when she found out she’d been paired with C.O., but we wouldn’t blame her if she did. Just saying.

Of course, Cheryl’s worked with NFL players before. In season three she and partner Emmit Smith took home the top prize. That being said, we’re confident she can keep Chad focused.

It certainly helps that Ochocinco is keeping his ego in check. “In football terms, I’m a rookie right now,” he admitted. “A little tune up…by the time I hit the dance floor I should be a five-year vet.”

Anyway, Chad knows his mama was going to be watching, so he had to have his game tight!  As far as we’re concerned he’s off to a good start simply because he’s not at as stiff as other athletes who have been on “DWTS ,”and that’s half the battle.

Chad and Cheryl turned it out, and we weren’t the only ones who thought so.  The judges were giving him the kind of critiques that are usually reserved for mid-season when everyone is just starting to hit their stride.

“This dance needs attack; you came out and attacked it,” Len raved, much to our shock and awe. “You’re a rough diamond at the moment. You need a bit more polish and you’re gonna sparkle. You’ve got great potential.”

“I can really see you have a huge, huge, huge talent yet untapped” Bruno said, which made Carrie Ann (and us) giggle. But he agreed with Len that the performance was still a little rough around the edges, encouraging Chad to be a little sharper next time.

Once Carrie Ann got a hold of herself, she said, “You got a little somethin’, somethin’ going on there. There’s some raw something happening that’s going to take you very far.”

In the end, his hustle put 18 points on the board.
