Comedian Tracy Morgan is looking to become a more serious actor in his next film project, Son of No One.

    According to
The Hollywood Reporter he’s wrapping up talks to join the cast of the police drama, which is set to star Channing Tatum and Al Pacino.

Channing would play a new cop assigned to work in the neighborhood where he grew up, and Tracy willl play his childhood friend named Vinnie. The part was supposed to go to Terrence Howard, but he backed out of the role.

Although this will be the comedian’s first dramatic role, he’s familiar with the cop film genre. He’s currently starring in the police buddy film Cop Out alongside veteran tough guy Bruce Willis.
