An upcoming tell-all book about Oprah Winfrey reveals that she tried something new before she hooked up with Stedman Graham.
With just hours to go until Kitty Kelley drops an unauthorized biography about Oprah, the New York Daily News got hold of an explosive excerpt that claims the talk show host dated John Tesh back in the ’70s.
For those that don’t know, John went on to host "Entertainment Tonight" before becoming a New Age musician.
According to Oprah: A Biography, things began after a 20-year-old Oprah joined the newsroom staff at WTVF-TV in Nashville, where John was an anchor. Things got so serious that they even moved into an apartment together. But things didn’t last long as the social pressures of being in an interracial relationship just got to be too much for John.
"He said one night he looked down and saw his white body next to her black body and couldn’t take it anymore,” a source told the Daily News. “He walked out in the middle of the night…He told me he later felt very guilty about it."
Neither Oprah nor John have commented on the books claims at this time, and we don’t expect that they will. Meanwhile Kitty’s book is due out tomorrow, and this tidbit (supposedly one of many) might only prove to boost pre-release sales.
