One slip up cost one ABC star the mirrorball trophy on “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday.

When Niecy Nash landed in the bottom two against “The Bachelor” star Jake Pavelka we were sure our girl was heading home. As much as we love her, the odds were not stacked in her favor.

Niecy has been in the bottom three before, and her critiques have been inconsistent. If that weren’t bad enough, the judges said she wasn’t exacty a top performer.

With the exception of this Monday, Jake usually tends to score very well with the judges and the audience. Last week he was even ranked in the top half of remaining competitors on the show.

Monday’s major misstep during Jake and his partner Chelsie’s samba (and later during their swing dance routine) landed him at the bottom of the pack.

When Jake was bumped from the competition we were really shocked! Even with his low scores, we thought for sure that his fans would have spared him from elimination. But it seems like Niecy was able to rally her troops a little more effectively this week.

Jake seemed to take the whole thing very well, enthusiastically thanking everyone for their support thus far in the competition. It seemed a fitting "so long" for the resident nice guy of “DWTS.”  However, his exit speech concerned us a little because he seemed about two seconds from bursting out in tears.

Thankfully, he held it together for the final dance. We’re sad to see him go, but we’re glad Niecy narrowly avoided his fate.
