Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is leaving family movies alone for a minute while he films an action thriller.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former pro-wrestler has signed on for Protection, where he’ll play a Mexico City security officer. His character is tasked with sneaking the daughter of a judge into the United States.
The already perilous mission is made even more impossible with crooked cops, drug dealers and criminals from the U.S. on Dwayne’s back.
Filming for Protection, which will cost an estimated $35 million, is slated to begin this fall in New Mexico.
