Terrence Howard may be putting his vocal skills to good use in a forthcoming biopic about Marvin Gaye.
Terrence told Deadline.com that he’s in talks with Cameron Crowe about playing Marvin Gaye in a movie about the soul singer’s life.
Sony Pictures originally offered the part to Will Smith, but he turned it down. It seems he’ll have his hands full anyway with filming Men In Black 3D.
Although a deal to play Marvin hasn’t been finalized, this could be the role of a lifetime for Terrence, who credits the soul singer as one of his musical influences.
“Nothing’s been signed on paper yet,” Terrence said. “Everybody who loves music will hate me if I get this one wrong.”
Scott Rudin has been pegged as producer for the as-yet untitled biopic, which is being backed by Motown founder Berry Gordy.
