While it may be an honor to some, Winnie Mandela doesn’t want her life story splashed across the silver screen
.
According to The New York Post, Winnie producer Andre Pieterse has received legal threats from Winnie’s camp, but he’s ignoring them.
Andre said the $15-million film, with a storyline spanning decades, is a “well-researched” piece made “without influence from any of the main characters.”
Winnie starts shooting in Cape Town, South Africa later this month. Jennifer Hudson has signed on to play Winnie Mandela. Terrence Howard is set to take on the role of her ex-husband, former South African president Nelson Mandela.
