If you couldn’t make it to the tents this year for New York Fashion Week, don’t fret. Read below for the top designer trends to see what colors and styles you’ll be rocking come fall.
Purple Reign

Purple’s been a fashion "It" shade for a few years now, but it’s going to be everywhere this fall. From deeper shades of eggplant to a shiny, bright violet, you can’t go wrong adding a pop of purple to next year’s wardrobe.
Boho Chic

Ethnic prints + lots of volume = an avant garde, bohemian aesthetic that was very popular with designers. The key to this look, it seems, is as many laters as possible, from tights to belts to vests.
Variations of the LBD

[Clockwise from top left: Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Malandrino, Calvin Klein]
The LBD, or little black dress, has long been a staple piece for women. Designers really kicked it up a notch this season, adding interesting details like ruching or feathers.
Graphic-print Dresses

[From left: Libertine, Doo.Ri]
Dresses that feature an almost spray-painted looking graphic were a familiar sight in New York this week. Doo.Ri went for a burst of graphics on the right side of a shift, while Libertine populated a simple gray dress with heads and shoulders.
Pretty, preppy, varisity

[Clockwise from top left: Marc by Marc Jacobs, Libertine, Zac Posen, Anna Sui]
Anything reminiscent of Catholic school or the Ivy League were popular choices for some designers. Plaid, blazers, tartan and cardigans will dominate the department store shelves next autumn.
