Yaya DaCosta is gracing the pages of Esquire to provide a little positivity.
Finally some good news about an “America’s Next Top Model” alumna! The men’s magazine has named Yaya their Woman of Summer 2010, but it’s more than just some flashy title. The model-actress also posed for a spread in Esquire’s new issue, and she’s giving guys who visit the magazine’s website a little boost with five daily affirmations.
On “ANTM” Yaya was all about keeping peace among the models, and that quality would have gone a long way to her career goals after graduating from Brown University.
"The thing at the top of my list was going to Geneva for an intensive in interpreting,” Yaya said. She would have been well-equipped to work for a host of different countries, too, since she’s fluent in Spanish and Portugese.
But, clearly, Yaya hasn’t done too bad for herself in her current profession. She’s starred in movies such as The Messenger and Take the Lead (an S2S fave). Next you can see her in The Kids Are All Right and TRON: Legacy. “Ugly Betty” fans might also recognize her from her run as Nico Slater.
Scroll down to see some shots from Yaya’s spread in Esquire.
