Idris Elba has signed on for guest spot on Showtime’s upcoming dramedy, “The Big C.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Idris will star in four episodes of the series as a painter who gets involved with the show’s main character, played by Laura Linney. It’s not clear whether Idris’ deal is for a recurring part or if his storyline will be short and sweet.
“The Big C,” debuting August 16, centers on a suburban teacher who finds out that she has cancer.
Idris is the second Black star to join the cast as Gabourey Sidibe has also inked a deal for a recurring guest spot on the show as one of Laura’s students.
