Lil Wayne has copped a plea deal in his Arizona drug possession case.
The Louisiana rapper may be able to avoid jail time in Arizona after pleading guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug, the Yuma Sun reports. Weezy, who appeared via satellite from Riker’s Island, entered the plea during a brief hearing in Yuma County Superior Court Friday morning.
The charges stem from a January 2008 search by border patrol. Authorities looking through Wayne’s tour bus claimed they found marijuana, cocaine, Ecstasy and a .40-caliber handgun onboard.
Under the terms of Wayne’s deal, he could be sentenced to 36 months of probation, which would begin once he’s released from prison in New York. The other charges leveled against him in the 2008 incident, including possession of a narcotic drug for sale, have been thrown out.
Official sentencing in the case will take place on June 30.
