R&B singer Ne-Yo has confirmed that he’s eagerly awaiting the release of his most important project.
Ne-Yo confirmed to Ebony magazine that he’s got a baby on the way. “I do have my first child on the way, and I’m very, very, very excited about that,” he said Thursday. “It’s a New Year’s baby and I’m just in a really good place right now.”
There have been whispers for a while that he and his girlfriend were expecting, but Ne-Yo’s camp did a good job of keeping the pregnancy quiet. When we asked Ne-Yo’s mom, Loraine Smith, what we should get the couple as a baby gift, she acted like she didn’t know what we were taking about!
She’s changed her story since Ne-Yo went public with the good news.
“I’ll confirm it,” the excited granny-to-be told S2S, adding that the family would be holding a shower at some point. “He’s ecstatic. She’s in her second trimester…We have embraced Monyetta and love her to death.”
But what’s the baby going to be? Your guess is as good as Ne-Yo’s because when the doctor tried to find out whether the kid would be a boy or a girl, it curled up in ball to hide.
Well now that the cat is out of the bag, we wish Ne-Yo and his babymama the best of luck in raising their child.
