Coach goes the Poppy route

    Hard times are being had by everyone these days, even the buyers of mid-end brands like Coach, so the company is releasing a less expensive line called Poppy.

    Poppy items will include shoes, handbags and small items like headbands, all with an on-brand, Coach feel that features rhinestones, bright colors and of course, lots of poppies.

    “Poppy offers a different attitude that is younger in spirit,” Executive Creative Director Reed Krakoff told WWD. The items will be available in July and will retail for $198 to $598.
