Denys Ramos, who manages the Scholastic Store in SoHo, said the store has sold about 200 Barack Obama action figures since the beginning of the month, the New York Daily News reports. The toy is selling so well, the store can’t keep them in stock.
“This holiday season, Barack Obama has been our Tickle Me Elmo,” Denys said. “We did have John McCain, but we had to discount it.”
The Obama doll, manufactured by New Jersey-based Jailbreak Toys, is priced at $12.95. It’s about the same size a Barbie doll.
