First Lady Michelle Obama has snapped up another magazine cover; this time she’s front and center on People magazine.
Haters who’ve been blasting Michelle for not wearing a Black designer during the inauguration can keep quiet. The first lady was rocking a Tracy Reese Guipure Lace Kimono Dress in color called “dried azalea” (that means pink) on the cover and on two pages of the magazine.
The dress is as rosy as a game the first family plays at dinner. “We do something called ‘roses and thorns’ and we each share our rose and our thorn,” Michelle told People. Although Barack has a pretty thorny job (in Malia’s opinion) she seems to be having an easier time.
“I have to say, I’ve had a lot of rosy days. … I think I have the good end of the deal,” said Michelle.
Some of those rosy days definitely have to include all the amazing people she’s met. Even though celebrities like Stevie Wonder and Barbara Walters leave her starstruck, she’s still dying to meet Will Smith. “He strikes me as a very interesting and conscientious individual with a very strong family,” she said.
Still, Michelle said that when thorns pop up that Barack “has to have someone he can lean on who understands and cares about him.”
Many wonder if their marriage really is as perfect as it seems, Michelle said it’s close. “I don’t want anybody to think that it’s easy. It works because we really work at it,” Michelle said. “We have a strong marriage, but it’s not perfect.”
While Michelle has easily become one of our favorite cover girls (she was the cover of our November 2008 issue) we wonder if she’s putting models out of business.
