Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins is heading into the boardroom for this season of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice.”
T-Boz wasn’t about to make herself look bad by stirring up drama on the show. “I didn’t Omarosa it,” she told AJC.com. “I made boring TV.” She said that she just didn’t see the point in arguing with people she didn’t know about a job she doesn’t do for a living.
T-Boz was even so laid back that it didn’t phase her when Donald Trump couldn’t pronounce her first name. After a while he just resorted to calling her “T.”
However, T-Boz said teammate Annie Dukes was a pro at working her last nerve. “She’s a cool person but she doesn’t have people skills,” Tionne said. “It’s not what you say but how you say it. She’d say, ‘Get that!’ instead of ‘Will you please get that?’"
Annie even called T-Boz out during the first board meeting for not working hard enough during a challenge. The TLC member had a sinus infection and a fever of 102 degrees that day. It ticked Tionne off when Annie acted concerned about her when the cameras stopped rolling.
While others were there to make good TV (we’re looking at you, Annie), our girl T-Boz was there on a mission. She said she achieved her goal of raising money for the Sickle Cell Foundation, so that means she won a challenge as project manager at some point during the show.
After meeting challenges in the boardroom and dealing with difficult teammates, T-Boz got her own space. “I’m not the roommate type,” she said. At the end of each day, the singer retreated to her own hotel room where she got to spend time with her daughter Chase and her mother.
Let’s hope she also got a good meal and enough rest. T-Boz told AJC.com that the producers created a recipe for disaster by keeping the cast tired and hungry during shooting days that lasted 16 hours or more.
You can see her compete against 15 other celebrities, including Brian McKnight and model Claudia Jordan, when “The Celebrity Apprentice” airs Sundays at 9 p.m.
