It’s a sad day for D.L. Hughley fans! The funnyman’s relatively new CNN show, "D.L. Hughley Breaks the News," is set to end, according to the media trade website MediaBistro.com.
The decision to terminate the show was D.L.’s own. CNN said "D.L. approached CNN about being permanently based in Los Angeles, where his family lives. To accommodate this, we agreed upon a new role where he will be a contributor for the network based in Los Angeles. We are eager to continue our relationship with D.L., who is a tremendous talent and a valued colleague."
The show, which debuted in October 2008, was doing well and drew over a quarter of a million viewers each week. We aren’t sure when the last episode airs, but you can catch an episode this Saturday, March 7 at 10 p.m. EST on CNN.
We wish D.L. lots of luck and can’t wait to see what CNN has him do next!
