Zumba, Zumba

Imagine sashaying around a big square room, clapping your hands, stomping your feet, maybe letting out a yell if the spirit moves you.

Nope, we’re not talking about going to a club or to church (you know you rock your hips to the choir too), but to a Zumba class.

Zumba (pronounced ZOOM-buh) is a Colombian slang word for fast, which made it perfect for the dance and aerobics fusion courses that are increasing in popularity across the country.

A spirited mix of aerobics and Latin American dance, devotees say that it’s nearly impossible to get bored. MSNBC.com also reported that some participants burned up to 700 calories in one class. Yeah, we thought you’d want to try it. Here are some classes in your area.
