Don’t expect to see Chris Brown at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards this year.
According to Momlogic.com, Chris has withdrawn his name from consideration for the coveted orange blimp. His rep issued a statement today saying: "Chris very much appreciates the support of his fans and the honor they have paid him in the way of nominations for Favorite Male Singer and Favorite Song. Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding the incident last month has shifted the focus from the music to whether he should be allowed to be among those nominated.”
The message goes on to state that Chris will be talking to his fans about what happened once his court case has been resolved. The case stems from an alleged fight with girlfriend Rihanna on February 8.
A source told TMZ.com that Tina Davis (Chris’ ex-manager) is the woman who sent Chris the steamy three-page text message that started the fight. Rihanna went off when Tina, who will be 40 years old this month, talked about hooking up in the text.
The Los Angeles Police Department affidavit said the message came “from a woman who [Chris] had a previous sexual relationship with.” There are rumors that Chris and Tina had a sexual relationship when he was only 16 years old. Of course, they have continued to deny those claims.
Either way, Rihanna told LAPD that that wasn’t the first fight she and Chris have had. The New York Daily News reports that things got physical in Europe about three months ago, but there were no injuries. “It was a verbal dispute. She slapped him, he responded. He shoved her,” a source citing Rihanna’s official statement said.
Chris and Rihanna also got into it in Barbados, this time over a Range Rover. “She says he broke the window. Nobody was injured and it was not reported," said the source.
The couples’ camps are also going at it over whether they should be seen in public with each other. TMZ.com reports that Rihanna’s people are doing their best to make sure that Breezy and RiRi aren’t photographed together. Her inner circle also wants her to drop him like a bad habit.
However, folks with Chris really want to the paparazzi to snap some shots of them getting along.
