Celebrities are committing digital suicide to save the lives of at-risk children.
Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Serena Williams, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian and Lady Gaga, just to name a few, will go offline Wednesday for World AIDS Day. It’s part of the Digital Life Sacrifice campaign, the newest fundraising initiative for Keep A Child Alive.
The shocking, somewhat-morbid ads for the campaign will feature stars posing in open caskets in ads on BuyLife.org. The imagery is supposed is meant to signify their digital death, as participants will sign off of all their social media outlets. Fans will be able to "resurrect" their fave celebs by figuratively buying their lives back through donations.
Alicia Keys and co. will not return to their various profiles and twitter feeds until they have collectively raised $1 million.
