Prince is going to bring down the house for “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.”
The Artist will play three nights back-to-back starting Wednesday, March 25 (not a bad way to end hump day). That’s something no other music act has ever done since no one else has performed more than two nights in a row.
He’ll be back on “Leno” again May 28 to help Jay go out with a bang. The late night host will be signing off for good the following night.
The last time Prince was on ‘The Tonight Show,” he blew audiences away by playing an unreleased song. Then he came back and played “Guitar” and “1999” for the audience once the cameras stopped rolling.
The three-night stand performance is in support of Prince’s new album releases (that’s right, plural). He’s releasing a three-disc set of music on March 29. His albums, LOtUSFLOW3R and MPLSoUND, will be packaged with Bria Valente’s debut CD, Elixer. The set will be sold exclusively at Target for $11.98.
Prince sent fans a cryptic e-mail giving them a heads up that they’ll be seeing a lot of him this March. “From the 24th on, there will b a slew of NPG-related events happening around electric Lalaland,” he wrote. “We don’t want 2 give away all the details yet, but b prepared 2 get yo groove on, numerous ways 4 numerous days. We know $ is tite but the adventures will b worth ur while! Stay 2ned 2 this outtaspacestation.”
Meanwhile, we’re wondering how we can get some tickets to see “Leno” If you can’t make it to the live taping, you can tune in to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" at 11:35 p.m. EST on NBC starting March 25.
