Case: I am … Blaxl Rose

We’ve been missing Case since "Missing You," and now he’s back with a new album.

The Rose Experience is packed with songs based on Case’s own life. His first single, "Lovely," was actually inspired by an old high school crush. Although Case is admittedly outgoing, he could never work up the nerve to talk to the girl he was digging. "It was a girl I used to see at the bus stop every day.  She was way older than me, but I had a crush on her. So my name for her was Lovely because I didn’t know her."

It looks like Case is also taking a cue from Beyoncé, aka Sasha Fierce: he says The Rose Experience will also introduce fans to Blaxl Rose (the Black Axl Rose), his onstage alter ego.

"That’s kinda like my wild side that just likes to have fun and just do whatever," Case said. "And a lot of stuff on the album is kinda his experiences."

Blaxl—oops, Case—is also coming back with leaner look. He credits that to a photo of himself. “I felt that I looked like a whale, so I had to get that in order,” he told S2S.  “[The picture] was that bad to me.”  We don’t think Case looked that bad before (check the pic on the right).

Case went on a diet and began an exercise program designed to trim him down and cut him up.  Like many of us, he said it wasn’t always easy to stay focused on his weight loss. “Once in a while it is [tough]. But once I get in the gym with my trainer, I’m usually cool,” Case said. “Working out is not one of my favorite things to do. I’m starting to like it more now.”

So what’s been the hardest thing for him to give up? Fast food! “I used to eat food all day, every day,” Case confided. However, he told us that he’s now at a point in his weight loss where he can occasionally enjoy a burger and fries.

Get to know Case’s other side when The Rose Experience hits stores March 24.  For now you can check out Blaxl in action in the video for "Lovely."
