Award season is getting off to a good start for Halle Berry and Idris Elba.
Halle Berry has been nominated for Best Actress In a Motion Picture for her performance in Frankie & Alice, which won’t be released nationally until February 2011. That’s quite an accomplishment for a movie most people haven’t seen, but we’re not mad at Ms. Berry!
Meanwhile, Idris’ performance in Luther for the BBC earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Motion Picture Made for Television.
Morgan Freeman also has a shot at taking home a Golden Globe next month–by extension at least. His geriatric action comedy Red got a nod for Best Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical.
To see if any of them take the stage for an acceptance speech, watch the 68th Annual Golden Globes when it airs January 16 at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
