Aretha Franklin is finally home from the hospital, but she’s ready to hit the town.
After undergoing a mysterious medical procedure earlier this month, the Queen of Soul is resting and recovering in Detroit, Michigan.
“I’ve been at home for almost three days now,” Aretha announced in a statement released today. “My family and friends who brought me home are taking great care of me.”
The “Respect” diva, who was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, also has a private nurse that visits her every day. With so many people looking in on her, Aretha hopes to be back on her feet by the time 2011 rolls around.
“I’m hoping to be strong enough to go out and see the upcoming Sam Cooke play at the Music Hall in Downtown Detroit before January 2,” She said, “as well as a performance of Dreamgirls at the FOX [Theater] before it closes.”
We at S2S, wish Aretha a speedy recovery.
