Rihanna might be a single lady now.
According to MediaTakeOut.com, Rihanna has dumped her R&B beau, Chris Brown. A source told them that she gave him an ultimatum last Thursday: fire Tina Davis or get dumped.
"Rihanna will not take him back; especially if there is still any kind of relationship between him and Tina Davis–personal or professional," the source told MTO.
Since Chris didn’t drop Tina from his management staff, Rihanna dropped him. Reportedly he hasn’t taken it well; some sources even say that he could be slipping into a depression.
“Initially he was confident that he’d get past this, but he’s beginning to lose hope," someone close to Chris told MTO. "I’ve never seen him like this.”
People.com reports that the pair definitely aren’t recording a duet either. They speculate that claims of a new collaboration came from old tapes for their single, "Bad Girl."
Chris and Rihanna provided reference vocals for the track, which was produced by Polow Da Don. The Pussycat Dolls later recorded "Bad Girl" for the soundtrack to Confessions of a Shopaholic. Chrianna’s version was leaked onto the Internet.
RiRi and Breezy also recored a duet called "Stronger" a few months ago. The song was never released, but it was supposed to go on her last album.
"Contrary to published reports, Chris Brown and Rihanna did not record a duet after the incident," a label source told People.com, referencing their alleged fight back in February.
Rihanna might not be singing on the stand either. A source close to the case told TMZ.com that Mark Geragos, Chris’ lawyer, wants the judge to excuse Rihanna from testifying.
Mark and Rihanna’s lawyer, Donald Etra, claim that media leaks (like the picture of her injuries) have violated her privacy. They say the "Disturbia" singer shouldn’t have to take the stand because her very personal situation has been made far too public.
Lawyers also say the leaks have compromised the case against Chris and made it impossible for him to get a fair trial. Now, the "Kiss Kiss" crooner’s legal team is trying to get the charges against him dropped.
“[Mark] will argue it was a misunderstanding between two young people passionately in love," a source told The Sun.
Chris has been slapped with felony charges of assault and making criminal threats following his alleged altercation with Rihanna. His arraignment is set for April 6.
