Here’s something for all of you conspiracy theorists out there: Late rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. both have lively, frequently updated Twitter blogs. Yeah, you read us right, each of the back-in-the-day battling stars has at least two blogs on the popular social networking site operating under their names.
In Tupac’s case, there are no less than 20 users with the word "tupac" as either their username or real name. Some are obviously just coincidences (like user caput whose real name is tupac), since Tupac was a first name before the iconic musician was even born. But at least six others, including Real2Pac, Tupac2pacShakur and The Real2Pac claim to either be run by his family and friends or by the artist himself.
TheReal2pac is by far the most active boasting nearly 800 followers and 97 updates since January 9. Some updates are song lyrics from Tupac’s catalog like "if you can make it through the night, there’s a brighter day," while others are quotes from the outspoken MC such as, "in my death, people will understand what I was talking about." Still other updates seem to attempt to resurrect him from the grave, like this weird status "just recorded 27 new joints with Daz…Waddup big homie!" (Daz was a rapper and associate of ‘Pac’s). And then there was this reply message to user, Eleven8, "That film was a false depiction of my life," regarding what we assume to be one of the upcoming Tupac films.
And while ‘Pac’s fans seem to be on that apocalyptic ish (pun intended), B.I.G.’s Twitter fans are just out to have some fun. Biggie’s got two Twitter accounts: NotoriousBIG and NNNOTORIOUSBIG (get it?). Of those, the first is much busier with 6,595 followers and over 1500 updates. The person that runs this account doesn’t claim any affiliation with Bad Boy or BIG’s family. Rather he or she just seems to like the instant cred Biggie’s picture and persona give their blog. Most updates include replies to other Twitterers and the occasional "What Would Biggie Tweet" post like, " avoiding Ma$e’s calls."
Interestingly, of the 2,928 Twitter blogs that NotoriousBIG follows, iamdiddy isn’t one of them. However, iamdiddysbeard is. LOL?
Maybe we should start a Twitter blog tribute to our favorite RIPing rapper Pimp C.
