Conya Doss’ tragedies brought real emotion to her fifth studio album.
Singer Conya Doss is a cliché: She really might be the hardest-working woman in show business. It is not because of hectic tours and photo shoots; although, she has those responsibilities. It’s because this independent artist simultaneously records, promotes and tours while juggling full-time jobs as a Cleveland public school teacher and the mother of an infant.
Blu Transition, the title of her fifth studio album, reflects major changes that happened in her life recently.
She named the album partially after her son, Landon Blu. The “Blu” refers to sad experiences during her pregnancy. “During my pregnancy my father passed away, and then my grandfather passed away, and them my son’s paternal grandmother passed away. And this was all within months.
Conya channeled her thoughts and emotions into songs that make this jazzy album intimate.
