Don Cornelius had better watch his step for the next year and a half.
According to TMZ.com, he pleaded no contest to one charge of corporal injury resulting in the traumatic condition of a spouse. The charge follows an incident on Mullholland Drive in Los Angeles, where Don allegedly beat his estranged wife, Victoria, last October.
The former "Soul Train" host wasn’t in court Wednesday when a L.A. County Superior Court judge sentenced him to 36 months probation.
Don, 72, was also ordered to fork over more than $1,000 in fines, and he has to finish 300 hours of community service. He’s required to complete a one-year domestic violence treatment program too.
A protective order has been put in place, and Don has to stay at least 100 yards away from site of the alleged brawl.
The four other misdemeanors Don had been charged with were dropped as the result of a plea deal.
