Keke Palmer takes charge

Forbes Magazine has just named her the 8th Most Valuable Young Star in Hollywood.

We know that Keke can already bring it as an actress, now she’s trying her hand at being a producer.

Keke’s just signed on to star in and produce Oreo, a film adaptation of the book by Adam Davenport. It’s about a teen whose parents split up, and neither of them wants to take custody of her or her baby brother. Oreo embarks on a cross-country journey to hold her parents responsible for their care.

The Akeelah and the Bee star said she just had to the take project because of how much she loved the main character.

"From the very first time I read ‘Oreo’ I totally loved the main character because she does not sit around crying about the problems in her life, she takes action," Keke said. "I just loved her spirit and over all approach to things.”

Keke’s no stranger to being in charge, though. She’s currently the star of Nickelodeon’s "True Jackson, VP" where she plays the vice president of a major fashion line.

You can watch Keke cut her world to fit when "True Jackson, VP" airs Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
