According to a story on Health.com, curvy singer Beyonce’s Body Mass Index is an estimated 21, based on her 5’6" frame and slim, 130 pound body. The "normal" range is anywhere from a 18.5 to a 24.5, and medical experts use the number to calculate everything from obesity to your risk levels for diseases like heart disease and diabetes. And you thought that BMW was the only three letter B-word you ever needed to know!

To find out if your BMI is in the healthy range, use the calculator on the CDC’s website.
Those with high percentages of muscle mass (like athletes) or with a below average ratio of muscle to fat (older people that have lost muscle mass) might find their BMI’s to be slightly inaccurate, but others should get pretty accurate results.
