Toni Braxton might be about ready to take five with her career in the music industry.
With six Grammys to her name, seven studio albums and another project on the way, Toni told "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" that she’s getting a little tired of being on the mic.
"I don’t know if I’m going to be doing anymore music, I’ve said that before in the past but I don’t know," she said during a recent call to the radio show.
Although Toni’s using her soulful voice in her Lifetime movie Twist of Faith, which debuts this weekend, she doesn’t feel as connected to music as she once did.
"I’m thinking, ‘I’m singing in the movie. Ta-Da. Some gospel a little bit.’ I just don’t know," Toni said. "Maybe I’m mad at music. I don’t know what it is. I can’t—my heart’s not in it right now."
Tom and his co-hosts questioned whether record companies have stopped reaching out to her, thus changing her passion for music. "Not even that," Toni stated. "They’re actually calling and I’m like, well, I don’t know if I want to do another record’ but that’s a blessing I guess. But I gotta be in it, I gotta love it and maybe because everything that has happened to me… I don’t know."
When asked if she was straight-up quitting music for good, Toni said, "No, I’m not trying to do that."
