It took forever for Jill Scott to release some new material, but this behind-the-scenes look at “Shame” proves she wasn’t wasting time.
Not that we don’t love Jill’s acting skills (what’s up with “No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” HBO?!), but we can’t get enough of her vocals! Recently resolved contract drama with Hidden Beach Records kept the singer from releasing any new material for a long time, but now that she’s free to do her thing, under a new deal with Warner Bros. Records, Jilly from Philly couldn’t wait to put out “Shame.”
“Shame” is the first single from her upcoming album Light of Sun, which will drop some time this summer. While we’re waiting on an album release date, though, check out this behind-the-scenes footage of Jill composing “Shame” and partying with locals on the set of the video, which also features Eve.
