There’s chatter that LaToya Jackson is getting things in order to put Michael Jackson’s kids on reality TV.
According to the New York Post, LaToya’s looking out for Prince, Paris and Michael as they embark on their own entertainment careers.
Supposedly, this took place after LaToya moved in with the kids at the family’s home in Calabasis around the time of that Jackson family feud last summer. While she was there, she became another in-house parental figure for the kids; she would also discuss with them what they all believe their father would want, but a source implied that LaToya pretty much led the conversation
“They needed comfort with everyone showing their wild side, so they watched television together, they listened to music and they talked about what Mike would want,” a family insider said. “Mostly, it was Toya doing all the talking.”
From there, LaToya is said to have signed the kids to her company Ja-Tail Enterprises, where they are her only clients.
“Toya’s working it. It’s because [Katherine] can’t say no to her,” another source close to the family said. “She told them how she knew [Michael] better than anybody else, and she knew he’d want them to follow their dreams; and because they were his children, they could be media and entertainment moguls.”
They added, “She had a blueprint. She sold it, and they bought it.”
Prince picked up a gig as a correspondent for “Entertainment Tonight,” and LaToya was on the set to keep a close eye on her nephew for his first day on the job. Supposedly, he’ll also be making an appearance on “Beverly Hills 90210.” Paris has also signed on to star in a movie that will begin shooting in London later this year. It’s not clear what entertainment aspirations Blanket has if any.
Under her management deal with the kids, she reportedly gets 15 percent of their earnings as commission. That could mean a huge pay day for LaToya if gossip that she’s negotiating a reality TV deal for the kids is to be believed. Rumor has it that bidding for the unconfirmed project has reached $10 million and OWN is leading the pack of networks vying for the show featuring LaToya and the kids.
The Jackson family has yet to comment on the rumors at this time.
