“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again” seems to be Dwight Howard’s motto as he moves his legal battle against Royce Reed from Florida to California.
Last year, the Orlando Magic player won a judgment to receive $500,000 from Royce, who was accused of breaking the agreement not to discuss Dwight in the press.
The judge agreed with Dwight that Royce, a regular on VH1’s “Basketball Wives,” was a bit more vocal about her son’s father than Dwight had hoped.
Although Dwight was awarded the money, he’s not yet been paid.
The original suit was filed in Florida, but now Dwight has filed in California, which would allow him to seize her assets in California if he proves his case, TMZ reports.
Including interest, he says she now owes him $551,606.74.
Dwight has a history of dealing somewhat strictly with his son’s mother.
In 2006, the three-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year filed a suit against the reality star for posting unflattering comments about him online. In March, he reportedly froze all her assets and confiscated her vehicle.
