Steve Harvey’s talk show renewed through 2016
Steve Harvey can get a little more comfortable in his hosting chair. After one successful season of “The Steve Harvey Show” and an early season 2 order, Deadline.com reports that NBC Universal has picked up the chat show through 2016.
This gives Steve two more seasons in a round of programming changes that saw several other daytime talk shows cancelled. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ricki Lake, Jeff Probst and Andersoon Cooper all got the ax. Katie Couric’s show also suffered unstable ratings.
“Steve is one of the best entertainers in the country, and his first season has been a tremendous success because of the personal connection he makes with the daytime audience,” NBC Broadcasting Chairman Ted Harbert said in a statement. “It’s so great to see Steve’s very funny and substantive show being rewarded with long-term commitments from our station partners.”
