Jennifer Hudson is getting a lot more love these days, and she thinks the extra attention has to do with her new trim physique.
“In this slim world, I do realize I was being discriminated against. I’m offered more parts. There is much more excitement about me now,” Jennifer told UK’s Grazia magazine.
The singer-turned-actress turned to Weight Watchers after giving birth to her son and went from a size 16 to a size 6.
In addition to wanting to be healthier, Jennifer also lost the weight for an upcoming role as Winnie Mandela.
Although she’s happy with her new body, Jennifer insists that there was nothing wrong with her when she was a bit heavier.
“I never thought I was overweight. I thought my old look was pretty normal,” she said.
She obviously has her opinions about her former and current looks, but it seems it’s Hollywood’s perception that really matters when it comes to being a success in the business.
Now, Jennifer recognizes that her weight may have been affecting her career.
“Now, on this side, they treat you differently, the opportunities are different, my image is different,” she told Live Smart magazine.
