Beanie Sigel is laying down his beef with Jay-Z after two years and saying he’s sorry.
The Philadelphia rapper issued a formal apology to Hov during a recent interview with XXLMag.com.
Things between the lyricists got heated in 2009 when Beanie dropped a track titled "What You Talkin Bout (I Ain’t Your Average Cat)", dissing Jay, his ex-mentor. Beanie fired a few shots at Memphis Bleek on the song, too.
Beanie took it a step further by calling out his Roc-A-Fella running buddies every time he graced the stage or sat down for an interview. Now, it seems that he’s feeling a little remorseful about disrespecting his former boss.
"What Mike Epps say? ‘Gangstas f**k up too,’" Beanie said. "Whatever I felt this dude Jay did wrong to me, it can’t outweigh the one thing he did do for me–he gave me an opportunity. Dude gave me an opportunity. A lot of people don’t get opportunities. He gave me that. That outweighs everything."
Beanie also expressed some regrets for getting all into his emotions in the studio, stating, "I got caught in the moment and put my feelings out there. I should have never done that."
And to keep himself from sticking his foot in his mouth yet again, Beanie revealed that he’s planning to scrap an album full of tracks bashing Hov and Memphis.
“I was explaining the whole Roc-A-Fella s**t and a lot of feelings were going to get hurt," Beanie explained. "I couldn’t put that out. It wouldn’t sit right with me.”
Instead, he’s heading back to the lab to work on an album and a mixtape with DJ Green Lantern.
