Cynthia Bailey and NeNe Leakes hit it off right from the start, so much so that Cynthia served as a bridesmaid in NeNe’s second wedding, but it seems “RHOA” season 6 drama may put the ladies’ friendship to the test.
“We do go through some things this season,” Cynthia told RadarOnline.com. “We don’t agree on a couple different things and some other things happen that kind of cause some tension in our relationship.”
Cynthia didn’t offer specifics, but she hinted that she and NeNe fail to see eye-to-eye about their co-stars. While NeNe and Kandi haven’t really been able to find common ground, Cynthia said she and the former Xscape singer have connected.
“We both have young daughters. We were both kind of single parents with our young daughters for a while. Her mom is super protective. My mom is super protective,” Cynthia explained. “Kandi and I definitely have a lot in common, so I definitely see our relationship evolving.”
Kandi’s relationship with fiancé Todd Tucker has played out on the show and Cynthia offered some advice on how to deal with the rumors that come with the territory when stars date.
“Just ask the questions,” Cynthia advised. “Ask your man what’s going on and just kind of move on.”
Cynthia, whose relationship and marriage to Peter Thomas is also “Real Housewives of Atlanta” fodder, cautioned against putting too much weight on the gossip.
“Unless you have reason to suspect that there could be some validity to it, for the most part, it’s usually just rumors,” she indirectly advised Kandi.
Cynthia may also be one of the few cast members to develop a friendly relationship with Kenya Moore, who found herself on the receiving end of NeNe’s wrath in the season premiere.
“Kenya and Kandi would be the ones that I’ve become the closest to this season and of course, my girl NeNe,” said Cynthia insisting that their issues aren’t irreparable.
“I’m still very close to NeNe. She’s someone that I have a great relationship with on the show and also off the show, and she’s definitely still my bestie,” she said. “Real friends work through stuff even if it’s uncomfortable.”
As for Porsha Stewart, Cynthia said the two just aren’t on the same page.
“Porsha, even though she is in her 30s, she just acts a little younger,” said Cynthia. “I like to have fun, but I’m busy…She’s finding herself. I’m trying to keep myself together. So, we’re just not on the same page right now in terms of that.”
