Chrisette Michelle’s sophomore album has earned the top spot on the Billboard 200.
Epiphany debuted in the top spot after selling 83,000 copies. That knocked the soundtrack from Hannah Montana: The Movie to #2.
We caught Chrisette at a brief, intimate show at XM studios a few weeks ago. From what we remember there is good reason why she’s on top. The songs are great, the melodies are catchy and her voice is amazing.
However, there is a bit of damper on all this good news. Chrisette’s sales are the lowest ever for a #1 debut. Still this was her best week sales of her career as her first album, I Am, entered the chart (and peaked) at #29.
Ciara’s Fantasy Ride, took #3 on the Billboard 200 after selling 81,000 copies upon its debut. This is her third top three debut, but it’s also her lowest opening week figures.
