There’s some confusion over who actually owns Michael Jackson’s stuff.
According to TMZ.com, Julien’s Auction House has filed papers to determine whether Michael or his former manager, Dr. Tohme, controls MJJ Productions. The company owns all the property that would have gone up for auction at Julien’s a few weeks ago.
Julien’s is stuck in the middle of the dispute, and they’re hesitant to hand the items over to either MJ or Dr. Tohme. The auction house is afraid that other party (whichever that would be) may file suit against them, claiming they owned the stuff.
Dr. Tohme told TMZ that although he controls MJJ Productions, the items are still in Michael’s name. He said he’s not trying to lay claim to any of the singer’s stuff.
