R&B star Amerie is this season’s latest celebrity bride to jump the broom!
The "1 Thing" singer wed Lenny Nicholson during an island ceremony at the Viceroy Anguilla Resort. After more than seven years together, the happy couple had to do it big.
Amerie and Lenny hosted a weekend of events for their guests including a welcome dinner.
Bucking standard garb for a beachy destination wedding, Amerie donned a Monique Lhuillier dress with a cathedral length train. The bride couldn’t walk down the aisle without something blue, so she slipped into a pair of blue Yves Saint Laurent Tribute sandals. Amerie capped off the luxe look with a modern updo adorned with diamonds and pearls.
"This is such an exciting time for me. This is my first marriage and I am over the moon," Amerie told People of her big day. "I look forward to a loving and enduring marriage. This day couldn’t come any sooner for me. I am beyond thrilled. I will remember this day forever."
After the ceremony, officiated by Amerie’s pastor Rev. Phillip R. Knight, Sr., guests got to enjoy a lavish reception. DJ Konflikt kept the party going as attendees nibbled on a seven-tier cake from Yann Chocolate. Each layer of the sea foam green cake was a different flavor picked especially by the newlyweds.
Amerie and Lenny are currently enjoying their honeymoon at the Viceroy’s Romance Villa, which comes complete with its own private beach.
