Alicia Keys loves being a married woman and she’s not shy about sharing her joy.
“It’s so fly,” Alicia told People magazine. “There’s something great about feeling at peace and ease with your partner and knowing you understand each other. I really enjoy that friendship.”
Alicia, who will celebrate her first wedding anniversary with Swizz Beatz on July 31, credits their likemindedness for keeping the peace in their home.
The two are so in-tune that she even lets him help pick out her outfits sometimes. “I can say, ‘I’m not sure about this look for the BET Awards. What do you think?’ and I know that he will honestly tell me exactly what’s up,” Alicia shared.
The "Empire State of Mind" singer hasn’t stopped gushing about her groom, and their baby Egypt, since she said "I do." Nevermind marking a very successful decade in the music business, her wedding day was the happiest day of her life.
“When I walked down [the aisle] and saw him, I could barely hold myself together,” Alicia said. “It was so beautiful—just about he and I and our love. The wedding was one of the best days of my life.”
There’s no word on how the couple will mark their anniversay just yet.
