Lil Wayne's request to have “private and sensitive” material edited out of his documentary, The Carter, was denied.
 
On Friday, a California Superior Court judge denied his motion to stop Digreti from showing the documentary in its entirety, according to AllHipHop.com. The judge said ruled against Wayne because the evidence that the rapper’s lawyer based the suit on just wasn’t strong enough to support the his claims.
 
The case hinged on allegations that, “Lil Wayne’s reputation and the value of his identity can be diminished by an unauthorized use of his image and persona, or by association with a movie or purported ‘authorized’ documentary that, in reality, does not meet with his approval and depicts him in a negative light and/or engaged in criminal conduct.”
 
The Carter was shown to audiences at the Sundance Film Festival and it features graphic clips of Weezy using drugs. His manager had tried to remove the scenes before the film debuted.
 
As a result of this latest setback for Lil Wayne, the judge awarded $5,000 in sanctions against the rapper and his lawyer. The amount has to be paid within 30 days. Wayne must also appear for a deposition with Digreti’s legal team where he’ll have to divulge specific details about scenes from The Carter that he thinks might hurt his criminal cases.
