Janet speaks for the Jacksons

    Mon, 06/29/2009 - 11:46 — Anonymous

Just three days after her family’s tragic loss, Janet Jackson put on a brave face at the BET Awards to speak on their behalf.

We were a little surprised to see Jamie Foxx lead Janet Jackson out onto the stage.  She was there to offer a brief comment on the passing of her brother, Michael Jackson. She noted that all of her family wanted to attend the ceremony on Sunday, but that it was just “too painful.”  Her father Joseph was in the audience, though.

"To you, Michael is an icon. To us, Michael is family. He will forever live in all of hearts,” Janet told the audience. "On behalf of my family and myself, thank you for all of your love, thank you for all of your support. We miss him so much."

Even though her voice started to crack with emotion at the end (who could blame her?), we think she held it together pretty well considering the circumstances of her appearance.

Once again, our heartfelt condolences go out to the Jackson Family at this difficult time.
