Essence Atkins married her other half last weekend after finding him on Match.com.
 
People.com reports that Essence and new hubby Jaime Mendez got hitched on Saturday at the Ambassador Mansion and Gardens in Pasadena, California.
 
The couple met on the dating site on Valentines Day 2008 when Essence made the first move.  
 
"I wrote him a quick little note that I had read his profile, and then I signed off, Happy SAD Day – that's Single Awareness Day," the bride told People.com. They went on their first date a week later.
 
Essence got a special gift from her “Half and Half” costar Valerie Pettiford who performed at their reception.  Reports from SmartSexyRichCrazy.com state that Sanaa Lathan was also on hand for the event. Word has it that Gabriel Union and Dwayne Wade were both in attendance too.
 
And in the spirit of spreading love, single guests were each given 6-month memberships to Match.com as part of their wedding favors.
 
Congratulations to Essence and Jaime! Take that, eHarmony.
